A resident of Beaufort County, South Carolina, Catherine Wayland co-founded International Family Magazine, an ezine that features writing on family-related topics. Moreover, she serves as the editor of the magazine. The magazine first launched more than one decade ago. Since then, it has published writing about family experiences in three different languages. In addition to her responsibilities at the magazine, Catherine Wayland teaches English as a second language and English language arts at a Beaufort County middle school.

Before launching her career in English education, writing, and editing, she received a bachelor of arts in English literature and a master of arts in writing and critical theory of literature. Later, she enrolled at Touro College, where she earned a master of science in education and special education.

An international traveler, she has lived in various parts of the US and in England and Spain. Moreover, she reads voraciously and enjoys participating in outdoor sports such as swimming, walking, and biking.
